LAMPANG: A fire broke out at a pool-side toilet of Lampang Wiengthong Hotel in the heart of the town early on Sunday. The toilet was partly damaged but nobody was hurt.
Police said the fire started at about 1.30am from a structure which houses a toilet by the swimming pool of the 11-storey hotel on Duang Rat road in tambon Suan Dok of Muang district. When firemen arrived, the fire was burning the toilet's ceiling and wooden roof.
The firefighters from the Nakhon Lampang Municipality managed to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading further in 30 minutes. The structure was partly damaged. Nobody was hurt.
The fire woke up hotel guests and nearby residents, but no fire evacuation was made.
Police were investigating.
