LaMelo Ball named Grind Session MVP, selected to First Team

Ahead of his final game for Spire Institute on Sunday, LaMelo Ball was named the MVP of the 2018-19 Grind Session season.

Ball was also named to the First Team as Spire earned a host of honors. Head coach Jermaine Jackson was named Coach of the Year while Ball earned a spot on the All-Grind Session First Team. Joining him on the First Team were Nimari Burnett of Prolific Prep, Damion Baugh of Tennessee Prep, Terry Armstrong of Bella Vista and Daishen Nix of Trinity International.

Both Myron Gardner and Isaiah Jackson were named to the Second Team for Spire along with Oscar Lopez of Hillcrest North and Zion Harmon and Addison Patterson of Bella Vista. Rocket Watts was named to the Third Team, joined notably by Julian Newman of Downey.

Spire put together a remarkably impressive season, losing just one contest all season long, that coming to fellow Grind Session member Prolific Prep. Ball, Watts and Jackson played huge roles in the success on the season, driving Spire to the finals of The Grind Session World Championship.
