Pietro Perolini and Massimo Ciglia triumphed at the end of Race 2 of the Lamborghini World Finals at Misano, becoming champions of the AM Class of the 2025 Super Trofeo.
Thanks to an eighth-place finish overall, Karim Ojjeh secured victory in the Lamborghini Cup category, taking home the title in a 50-minute race that was full of surprises.
The start was a smooth one, with Stephane Lemeret taking the lead ahead of Paolo Biglieri and Ciglia. But, after the first lap, the safety car was deployed following a collision between Gabriel Holguin and Philip Tang, the latter being hit by his PPM rival, who lost control of his Huracan while accelerating.
The restart was uneventful, and when the driver changeover took place, Lemeret handed over to Rodrigue Gillion, who was immediately reeled in and passed by Perolini. The Oregon driver had himself jumped ahead of Biglieri.
Perolini's significant lead was then wiped out with eight minutes to go, when the safety car returned to the track to allow for the recovery of Dean Neuls (TR3 Racing), who had collided with Seweryn Mazur (GT3 Poland) while battling for sixth place.
The restart took place with three laps remaining, and Perolini made a perfect run in the decisive sprint, leaving the remaining podium positions behind him.
Stephane Tribaudini, making an impressive comeback from his team-mate Piergiacomo Randazzo's 14th-place start, closed in on Biglieri and overtook him, but the ASR team’s Argentinean driver responded to his VSR rival in a final out-braking battle to the flag.
It was the Frenchman who prevailed at the finish line, and Biglieri had to settle for third place, with Antoine Corneau (Ansa Motorsport) finishing fourth ahead of David Staab (PPM), Mazur, and Garrett Adams (Alliance Racing).
Eighth place was enough for Ojjeh to become the LC Champion, the Saudi driver enjoying a comfortable lead that he built up throughout the race. This allowed him to get the better of Donovan and Luciano Privitelio (Rexal Villorba) and Rocky Bolduc (Rafa Racing), who finished 10th and 11th overall and on the class podium.
