Lamborghini boost for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance

OWNERS of some of the country’s most extreme performance cars gathered at Perth today to make a donation to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance.

The Lamborghini Edinburgh Scottish Tour opened its four-day event with a visit to the SCAA’s Perth Airport headquarters to learn of the life-saving service’s work.

Event co-organiser Mark Ryan, of Driving Scotland, said this year’s road trip would take a convoy of about 25 Lamborghinis around some of the most scenic Highland routes.

And he stressed that Lamborghini Edinburgh was keen to “give something back” to a charity that played such a key role in helping injured motorists.

Presenting the £500 donation, Lamborghini Edinburgh general manager Andy Canning said: “SCAA has proved a lifesaver for many motorists injured in accidents on Scotland’s roads and, as motoring enthusiasts, we want to play our part in sustaining the service.”

SCAA director of fundraising and communications Nick Harvey said it was a real thrill to have a convoy of Lamborghinis turn up at the airport. He said: “We welcome many supporters to our base here at Perth but rarely ones with such style.

“We’re hugely grateful to Lamborghini Edinburgh for their generous donation. It’s through support such as this that SCAA is able to help those most seriously ill and injured wherever the need arises in Scotland.”

The work done by the charity’s two helicopter air ambulances, funded entirely by public donation, has helped hundreds of motorists during the eight years since the service launched.
