Lambley Lane reopening delayed to future date

Lambley Lane in Gedling has not reopened as planned today due to 'supply chain difficulties'.

The road was set to reopen Monday 13 September after being closed since June 2020 so work could continue on the new £40m relief route Gedling Access Road.

The council said the delay is due to the difficulties with the 'availability of materials needed' and for this reason, the reopening will be delayed until September 27.

The road remains closed from 7am - 6pm which is due to the need to move 640,000 tones of earthworks across the road.

Traffic is being diverted via Mapperley Top but businesses along the road are able to access it.

Lambley Lane was supposed to shut for eight months from mid-June 2020 to mid-Feburary 2021 but due to supply difficulties and Covid restrictions its reopening has been delayed.

The Nottinghamshire County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused and has thanked residents and motorists for their patience.
