Lambing time at Hall Hill Farm invites families to meet the new spring arrivals

Lambs are adding to the attractions at award-winning visitor attraction Hall Hill Farm where families can make the most of an opportunity to help welcome the new arrivals.

Lambing time is always a highlight of the year at the County Durham farm and young ones especially love the chance to see the new-borns.

But the window of opportunity is a limited one.

Hall Hill Farm has several different breeds of sheep which will lamb over an eight-week period.

Families should strike lucky if they plan a visit during April and even up to May 6 and they will be able to feed the pet lambs - and there are likely to be some Easter chicks to see too.

Lambing is always the biggest and busiest event in the farming calendar and the farm is expecting up to 500 lambs to be born  this spring on its site.

It has a live Lamb-Cam online and earlier this week  also hosted another lambing live event which proved such a hit in previous years.

And previous footage captures the event which invites visitors to bottle-feed the lambs, visit behind the scenes and perhaps even see  a live birth.

Besides its new lambs and chicks, the farm, near Lanchester, boasts its usual range of attractions including tractor rides and adventure play.

Hall Hill has been catering for visitors now for more than 35 years and it was recently named one of the top UK attractions by VisitEngland as well as being runner-up in the small tourist attraction of the 2018 National Tourism Awards.
