Lamar Odom: NBA star and ex-partner of Khloe Kardashian hospitalised after being found unconscious in US brothel

Lamar Odom is reportedly in a critical condition after he was found unconscious in a US brothel.

The former NBA star and ex-partner of Khloe Kardashian is being treated in a Las Vegas hospital, the Nye County Sheriff's Department said.

Police were called to the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, after Odom, 35, was found face down and unresponsive on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services stabilised him at the Desert View Hospital in nearby Pahrump and drove him to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Centre in Las Vegas because he is too tall to be airlifted.

The entertainment site TMZ said Odom is “fighting for his life” and Kardashian has travelled to the hospital where he is being treated.

Dennis Hof, the owner of the Love Ranch, told the Associated Press Odom had taken herbal Viagra and drank part of a bottle of Cognac since he arrived at the premises on Saturday. “He just wanted to have a good time and relax,” he said. “It’s incredibly sad."

“We called 911, and the 911 told my staff what to do: turn him over on his left side,” Hof said in a separate video statement. “There was this terrible foaming stuff coming out of him. He was throwing up, a little bit of blood.”

Odom has played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. Lakers Nation sent a message of support to Odom and urged players and fans to show their support to the popular former player, who has “conquered so many demons”.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in 2013, four years after they married in a ceremony televised on the E! network.
