Lamar Odom: Former NBA athlete's condition reportedly 'tiny bit' improved

Lamar Odom’s condition reportedly improved on Friday as the former basketball star’s family and friends gathered at his bedside in the Las Vegas hospital.

The former NBA star and reality television personality, 35, was hospitalised after being found unconscious in the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, on Tuesday.

Odom, formerly married to Khloe Kardashion, “got a tiny bit better” a source at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center told CNN.

Both Entertainment News!, the US channel that airs the Kardashian series, and Buzzfeed News claimed Odom was considerably improved. A source for each news outlet claims the ex-athlete had sat up in bed and spoken with his estranged wife.

Odom has reportedly been visited by numerous friends and family. Although security has been exceedingly tight – with the hospital refusing to comment on his condition – the husband of a patient nearby claimed he had seen many people coming and going.

"All throughout the night there is banging and clicking as his entourage, managers, basketball players and what not coming and going off the floor," George Cooper told CNN.

His reported recovery comes after his estranged wife Khloe allegedly criticised the brothel's manager Dennis Hof for comments made to the media. Her spokesperson reportedly told the New York Daily News the family had "reached out" asking him to respect Odom and the Kardashian family's privacy by not speaking to the press.

"This is a very painful situation, as I know you are aware, and the idea that anyone would use it to seek publicity is really sad," they added.

Odom is among the premier basketball players from Queens, New York. He played 14 seasons in the NBA and also represented the United States in basketball at the 2004 Olympics where his team won bronze.
