Lamar Jackson says Tom Brady is ‘definitely the G.O.A.T.’

Lamar Jackson seems to throw around the phrase, the G.O.A.T., with surprising regularity. But the Baltimore Ravens quarterback made a point of specifying that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is “the one at the top.”

Jackson said Brady is “definitely the G.O.A.T.,” the greatest of all time. The two quarterbacks will square off against one another in Week 9 in Baltimore on Sunday. It sounds like Jackson isn’t taking the matchup lightly, even if he won’t actually be facing Brady. Instead, he’ll be facing the Patriots defense, which ranks No. 1 with the fewest points allowed and yards allowed per game.

Jackson wasn’t the only Raven throwing around compliments. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said Belichick is “the best in the business.” Harbaugh’s affection for Belichick goes back Harbaugh’s previous gig at the University of Cincinnati in the early 1990s.

“Ever since then, just a guy I admire much. Try to study what they do,” Harbaugh told reporters in Baltimore on Wednesday. “Try to understand why they do things. If you’re in this league and if you’re a coach at any level — especially a head coach — you sure as heck should be looking at what he does and trying to figure out why he does it well, because no one has done it better.”

The results speak to Harbaugh’s argument. Brady and Belichick have six Super Bowl victories and nine appearances with the Patriots. Belichick logged his 300th win in Week 8, and surely intends to log No. 301 against Harbaugh, Jackson and the Ravens on Sunday.
