Lamar Jackson putting in work this offseason to improve in 2nd year

The Baltimore Ravens are counting on quarterback Lamar Jackson. After handing him the keys to the offense last season, the Ravens have since traded quarterback Joe Flacco to the Denver Broncos and are moving forward with Jackson as their starting quarterback.

As the defense has faced some losses in free agency, the offense is going to be asked to build on what they did last season and become a more efficient and productive unit. That all relies on Jackson becoming a better passer and growing as a player. Jackson seems to know that too since he’s been working his tail off this offseason to do it.

Jackson has been working out in Florida with quarterback coach Joshua Harris and wide receivers Jordan Lasley and Jaylen Smith. Jackson said he watched film from last year and noticed his mechanics were breaking down. So he’s been working on that specifically this offseason.

Jackson was also one of the players who showed up at the Under Armour Performance Center on Monday for the start of the offseason workout program in Baltimore.

Limited to strength and conditioning workouts and rehabilitation, Jackson has been putting time in the weight room already. Strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders spoke highly of Jackson’s involvement in the program — something skill positions rarely are excited to do.

While there are plenty of fans and analysts out there not impressed with what they saw from Jackson as a rookie, no one can hate his work ethic thus far.
