Lamar Jackson Had One-Word Reaction After Finding Out He Made NFL History vs. Chargers

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made history during the win over the Chargers on Sunday Night Football, becoming the fastest quarterback to rack up 5,000 career rushing yards.

Jackson was made aware of this bit of NFL history when speaking to reporters after the game, though it didn’t seem to pique his interest all that much.

When told he’d become the fastest quarterback ever to reach 5,000 rushing yards, Jackson simply said, "cool.”

Only four quarterbacks in league history have eclipsed that milestone: Jackson, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson and Michael Vick. Jackson’s 82 games were the fewest needed of the group to reach 5,000 yards. The milestone took Vick 104 games to achieve, while Newton needed 129 games and Wilson required 175 games.

Vick is the NFL’s all-time leader in rushing yards for quarterbacks with 6,109 across 143 career games. At his current pace of 61.1 rushing yards per game, Jackson would pass Vick’s record mark in the 100th game of his career.

While Baltimore’s dual-threat star is blowing historic quarterback rushing figures out of the water, he doesn’t seem too interested in the individual accolades or achievements. He’s probably more pleased to see the Ravens sitting atop the AFC following Sunday’s win, improving to a conference-best 9–3 heading into their bye week.
