The Baltimore Ravens’ dominant performance over the Miami dolphins continues to earn praise.
In the 59-10 beating of the Dolphins, quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 324 yards and five touchdowns, earning a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating on the day. What’s even more impressive is that his day ended early, stopping what could have easily been an even more prolific effort.
Running back Mark Ingram kickstarted things for Baltimore, taking the very first play of the game 49 yards. His efficiency wouldn’t stop there as Ingram ran just 14 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Ingram’s 7.6 yard-per-carry average was the best in the league among running backs with at least 12 carries.
For their efforts, both Jackson and Ingram found themselves in the running for the Fed Ex Air and Ground Players of the Week.
It’s not hard to argue both Jackson and Ingram deserve the award this week since both players were so essential to Baltimore’s Week 1 victory. While the other nominated players are certainly deserving, it’s no question that both Jackson and Ingram have my vote.
It’s also worth noting that no team won both the air and ground awards in the same week last year. So if both Jackson and Ingram can win this week, they’ll pull off a pretty amazing feat that helps to show just how dominant the Ravens’ performance was.
Each Tuesday morning of the regular season, through Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, fans can visit NFL.com/FedEx or the NFL Twitter page to vote for their favorite performances of the week. FedEx will award a $2,000 donation in the winning players’ names to The USO.
