Lakshya Sen eyes BWF Finals after Paris heartbreak

BENGALURU: Lakshya Sen, after falling agonizingly short of an Olympic medal in Paris, got back to training last month under the watchful eyes of coach Vimal Kumar at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy here.

Besides setting short and long-term goals, there are plans to bring in Korean coach Yoo Yong-Sung on board again.

"We are trying to get him (Yoo) back, who was with him earlier. He is quite an intense person, can be helpful, tough on the court. So we are looking at him. Some of his (training) methods can help Lakshya too, we have written to the Badminton Association of India (BAI) already and they are exploring that," Kumar told TOI here.

In the last three weeks, Kumar has worked on different aspects of the youngster's game to prepare him for the tournaments ahead. "We have tried to bring in some sort of variety in his game, from the net area, also playing lifts from back of the court and other variations," he said.
