Lakers vs. Bucks Recap: The Good, the bad and the Ball

The Los Angeles Lakers closed out their week-long Eastern Conference road trip with a 115-101 loss the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday.

Here was the good, the bad and the Ball from the game.

The Good: KCP

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, otherwise known as KCP or Kenny, was feeling it from behind the 3-point line on Tuesday, converting an unreal 57.1 percent of his 14 3-point attempts. He ended the night with a game-high 35 points, which is also his season-high and the most points he’s scored since joining the Lakers in 2017.

It was a great night for him and one that teams will surely remember heading into this summer, when he’ll hit unrestricted free agency.

The Bad: Kyle Kuzma

The Lakers needed more than Caldwell-Pope to beat Milwaukee and unfortunately, no one was able to step up offensively — not even Kyle Kuzma, the team’s second-leading scorer.

In 34 minutes against the Bucks, Kuzma scored just 17 points on a lowly 4-17 shooting from the field, including 2-8 from behind the arc. He also took a step back in the playmaking department, dishing out just three assists. In his two previous games, he tallied 18 total assists.

Whether it’s fatigue or lack of motivation to finish the season, Kuzma hasn’t been himself as of late. Luckily, his summer will start a little sooner than he expected, as the Lakers are just a game away from being eliminated from playoff contention.

To quote former Laker Nick Van Exel: “1-2-3, Cancun!”
