Lakers to sign G League’s Jemerrio Jones to two year contract

The Los Angeles Lakers apparently know what they’re doing with their open roster spot for the rest of the season and oddly enough, even into next season if they want to.

Lauren Jones of the L.A. Sentinel first reported that the Lakers would call up Jemerrio Jones from the South Bay Lakers, while Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Jones will be on the Lakers for the remainder of the season and the Lakers also have a team option to keep him for next season.

The Lakers previously filled their open roster spot with Andre Ingram and most recently, Scott Machado. Machado was signed a week ago, so it appears that he will not be picked up after his current 10-day contract is up.
