Lakers star Anthony Davis to miss second game against Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers will again be without star Anthony Davis against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Davis will miss the game Wednesday due to tendonosis in his right Achilles, according to USA TODAY’s Mark Medina. This is the same injury that caused Davis to miss the Monday matchup against Oklahoma City.

In that game, the Thunder took the Lakers to overtime but lost 119-112.

Markieff Morris started in place of Davis on Monday.

The Thunder won’t have to face Davis, but they’ll also be without their star. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is listed as out on the injury report with a left knee sprain, the same injury that cost him two games last week.

Gilgeous-Alexander played 41.5 minutes in the overtime game Monday, so this may be going along with the “caution” theme that head coach Mark Daigneault expressed when the guard missed the outings on Feb. 3 and 5.

Thunder center Mike Muscala is out with a concussion and Theo Maledon remains in COVID-19 protocol.

Isaiah Roby did not appear on the injury report as of Wednesday afternoon.

The game between the Thunder and Lakers is scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. Watch at Fox Sports Oklahoma.
