The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a thrilling win in overtime against the Miami Heat, 120-117.
The game started off slow as both teams struggled to find the net, but the pace eventually picked up. However, Miami ruled out Jimmy Butler with an ankle sprain after the opening period.
Basketball is a game of runs, and that was clearly the case in this one. L.A. took a decent lead, then Miami answered.
The Heat led by nine points in the latter half of the fourth quarter when Los Angeles’ offense stalled, but L.A. went on a late run, took the lead and wound up in overtime.
Malik Monk made big baskets all game, including in crunch time, and Carmelo Anthony’s free throw in the final seconds sealed the deal.
