Lakers open for voluntary, socially distanced workouts on Saturday

The Los Angeles Lakers join the majority of NBA teams to open their practice facilities for voluntary, socially distanced workouts, on Saturday as they allowed players inside the doors of the facility for the first time since late March when the NBA decided to close all of them amid the pandemic.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the Lakers and the NBA were in close contact with state, county, and city officials in making sure that they followed all of the protocols required for reopening. The Lakers haven’t been in the facility since immediately after the coronavirus was confirmed to be within the NBA after Rudy Gobert’s positive test on March 11.

It’s unclear whether LeBron was one of the handful of players on the team to work out in the facility, but LeBron is plenty busy tonight with executive producing a graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020, adding even more evidence to his passion for educations.
