Lakers news: Western Conference Finals to start Friday after Nuggets force Game 7

The Los Angeles Lakers will have several more days of rest and they have the Denver Nuggets to thank for it. With the Nuggets forcing a Game 7 in their second-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Western Conference Finals won’t start until Friday.

The NBA announced the schedule for the Western Conference Finals after the Nuggets forced a Game 7, with Game 1 of the West Finals scheduled for Friday. The full schedule can be seen below.

Fri 9/18 9:00 PM 1 LAC/DEN L.A. Lakers AHA TNT/R
Sun 9/20 7:30 PM 2 LAC/DEN L.A. Lakers AHA TNT/R
Tue 9/22 9:00 PM 3 L.A. Lakers LAC/DEN AHA TNT/R
Thu 9/24 9:00 PM 4 L.A. Lakers LAC/DEN AHA TNT/R
Sat 9/26 9:00 PM 5* LAC/DEN L.A. Lakers AHA TNT/R
Mon 9/28 TBD 6* L.A. Lakers LAC/DEN AHA TNT/R
Wed 9/30 TBD 7* LAC/DEN L.A. Lakers AHA TNT/R

After the Lakers took care of business last night, they can kick their feet up and enjoy watching the Clippers and Nuggets fight for their playoff lives. Once again, as they did last round, the Lakers will benefit from extra rest because they did what they had to do. This trend bodes well for their championship aspirations.
