Lakers news: LeBron James and Anthony Davis headline 1st Team All-NBA

With only a couple of days standing between the Los Angeles Lakers and the start of their first Western Conference Finals series since 2010, the NBA’s announcement of the All-NBA teams provided yet another marker of just how special this Lakers team is. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were both named to the All-NBA 1st team, giving the Lakers the only two teammates on the first team. Along with the two Lakers, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Luka Doncic rounded out the first team.

Davis and James made a little history by being teammates on the first team as well. They’re the first teammates to do so since Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire did it in 2006-06. They are also the first Lakers to do it since Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, who did it three seasons in a row from 2001-2004. LeBron James also earned an individual milestone with his 16th All-NBA selection, the most in NBA history.

The NBA also released the 2nd and 3rd teams.

But obviously what matters most to Lakers fans is winning a championship. They get their next opportunity to move closer to that goal on Friday night when the play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets.
