Lakers news: Anthony Davis (calf) named to West All-Stars, likely to be replaced

The Los Angeles Lakers will have two players representing their team in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game even though only one of them is expected to play in the March 7 exhibition in Atlanta. Anthony Davis was named to the Western Conference reserves on Tuesday when they were announced. Davis, who just finished his first week in what is expected to be a month-long absence with a calf strain. The Lakers are being very cautious with Davis, so NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will select a replacement for Davis on the Western Conference reserves.

Davis made his 8th All-Star Game selection while Zion Williamson made his first.

However, LeBron James not happy about the snub of Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker. The Suns are currently in 4th place in the Western Conference and while they have Chris Paul representing them, Booker is their leading scorer and perhaps the biggest reason Paul approved of trade to Phoenix. With Booker being seen as the biggest snub, he will likely replace Davis when the league announces Silver’s decision.
