Lakers news: Alex Caruso agrees to sneaker deal with ANTA

Playing alongside LeBron James has long brought benefits beyond just winning games and championships. Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso is the latest to experience what the combination of playing with LeBron and winning a championship for the NBA’s most popular franchise can bring as the Lakers reserve guard has agreed to a multi-year sneaker deal.

Caruso has agreed to a multi-year deal with Chinese sneaker company ANTA, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula. Caruso took the court in Thursday night’s loss while repping his new sneaker partnership. Caruso joins Golden State’s Klay Thompson, Charlotte’s Gordon Hayward, and his former Lakers teammate Rajon Rondo.

Kyle Kuzma, who has a sneaker deal with Puma, celebrated Caruso’s deal on social media.

It’s unclear whether this will lead to Caruso getting his own signature shoe with ANTA, but given the Lakers aren’t going anywhere as a contender and his own popularity as a player with Lakers fans, it would be a surprise if ANTA decided to sign Caruso without having at least one Caruso shoe in the pipeline. The memes would be too strong.
