Lakers look to push win-streak to six games visiting 2-5 Bulls

The Los Angeles Lakers will have the opportunity on Tuesday night to claim the NBA’s best record as they look to extend their league-leading five-game win streak to six games when they take on the 2-5 Chicago Bulls.

Although Anthony Davis’ matter of fact statements about being a free agent garnered some headlines, the Lakers themselves have been arguably the biggest story in the league because of their strong play on the court. Davis, only a day removed from winning the first Player of the Week award for the Lakers franchise since 2013, will likely be looking for a big performance in his hometown of Chicago.

Their opponents on Tuesday, the Bulls, have easily been one of the league’s most disappointing teams through the first two weeks of the season. The Bulls, after doing a good job of using their cap space to sign role players to surround their young core, have been abysmal in their 2-5 start. They began their season with a loss to the Charlotte Hornets and followed it with losses to the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers. They have stumbled on what looked like an easy schedule and now they get these Lakers.

Although the Lakers could possibly be without starting guard Avery Bradley, the way they are playing defensively indicates they shouldn’t have too much trouble putting the clamps on the league’s No. 23 ranked offensive attack.
