Lakers’ LeBron James reveals two goals he has before the regular season starts

LeBron James is getting set to start his 19th season in the league.

The Los Angeles Lakers star has accomplished a great deal in the NBA, but he’s still going strong and wants to add accolades to his resume.

Winning his fifth ring — the Lakers’ 18th — is the ultimate goal, but he’ll need to do the basics first to get there.

With a few weeks left before the regular season tips off, James discussed two goals he has for himself to prepare.

“Getting back into playing shape. I feel great, I got my body in the best possible chance to be in the best shape I can be, but there’s no simulation for once you get out on the floor,” James said. “You start going 5-on-5, you got other grown men leaning and bumping on you, hanging on you, things of that nature, so getting my wind. That’s one.”

James continued about his second goal.

“Getting my rhythm,” James said. “Talking with (Frank) Vogel and the training staff on how we balance the preseason and things of that nature where I can get some rest but also at the same time, get in rhythm, get my wind, too. But my wind and rhythm is most important for me.”

These two will be paramount for James’ success. He’ll have more offensive-minded weapons around him to reduce the overall workload, but the soon-to-be 37-year-old forward is still the engine that keeps this team churning.

The preseason will definitely be key for James to rediscover his form again after spending much of last season dealing with an ankle sprain.
