The Los Angeles Lakers have already made a big move before Wednesday’s draft and Friday’s official start of free agency, agreeing to a deal for Oklahoma City’s Dennis Schröder. Schröder instantly upgraded their backcourt, especially if the Lakers lose Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, both a very real possibility. However, the Lakers still have plenty of needs to address ahead of next season’s title defense due to having a lot of role players becoming free agents.
According to the latest reporting from Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers are interested in bringing back Markieff Morris and Dwight Howard, who both played important roles on their way to the franchise’s 17th championship.
The Lakers will need the additional frontcourt help, especially if they are going to cut back on the minutes for LeBron James and Anthony Davis early in the season as they continue to recover from carrying a historically heavy load to help the Lakers win the 2020 NBA title.
