Lakers in San Francisco to face Warriors once more to close preseason

The preseason is finally, almost over. After flying into a geopolitical firestorm in China and coming back out the other side mostly intact, the Los Angeles Lakers are back where they began the exhibition season on Friday night in San Francisco. However, unlike the first time, they will be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis in tonight’s matchup with the Golden State Warriors.

The team announced on Thursday evening they would rest James and Davis in Friday’s preseason finale. LeBron tied his preseason minutes high with 25 minutes in Wednesday’s game against Golden State while Davis played a preseason-high 28 minutes. The game is expected to be shown locally and carried nationally on NBA TV.

As for players who could be back on the court for the Lakers, Rajon Rondo rested on Wednesday and should be ready to play tonight. For the Warriors, head coach Steve Kerr told reporters earlier this week that he plans to use tonight as a dress rehearsal and that he will approach it as if it were a real game, meaning solid burn for their stars tonight.
