While the Los Angeles Lakers opted to leave Rob Pelinka in charge of the basketball operations following the sudden resignation of Magic Johnson, they have found someone else to lead their health and performance staff. And being the Lakers, it shouldn’t be a shock that it’s a familiar face.
The Lakers announced on Friday that Judy Seto will be the team’s Director of Sports Performance. Seto previously worked for the Lakers as the team’s physical therapist and most recently, she was the Director of Sports Performance at Select Physical Therapy in Southern California. LeBron James welcomed Seto via twitter on Friday afternoon.
Seto had a close relationship with Kobe Bryant, whom he referred to as his “secret weapon.” Seto responded to James about how excited she is to work together with him.
LeBron is likely looking forward to the change, especially after playing a career-low 55 games this season and suffering the longest absence of his career when he missed 17 games after his groin injury on Christmas Day.
