Lakers have LeBron James practice load management for Monday’s practice

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel had indicated that he would approach load management and rest for his team on a case-by-case basis, but evidently the case of LeBron James and fellow veteran forward Jared Dudley required them to rest for Monday’s third day of practice for the Lakers.

“Just common sense,” Vogel said when asked for his reasoning on holding his two 34-year-old veterans out of the morning’s practice. “I meet with the medical team every day, and we’ve got some experienced vets on the team and we’re not gonna overdo it with those guys in September.”

LeBron and many of the holdovers from last year’s Lakers team have pointed out the very drastic changes from last year’s team to this year’s is the amount of veterans on their roster. While Vogel downplayed load management earlier in the season, it appears that the Lakers are at least tinkering with the idea when it comes to their oldest players.
