Lakers free agent Bullock goes to Knicks, Beverley stays with Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers are running out of second, third, fourth and fifth options as the NBA free agent period completed over $3 billion in deals in just over 12 hours of negotiations. The Lakers are still waiting on Kawhi Leonard, but mostly everyone, from the top free agents to the NBA’s middle-to-minimum class, are already off the board. That includes one of their own free agents.

Reggie Bullock, who was a midseason trade target by the Lakers at the deadline last season, has agreed to a three year, $21 million contract with the New York Knicks, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Bullock is a career 39% 3-point shooter and was brought in with the hope of elevating a Lakers unit that finished 29th in 3-point percentage.

In addition to seeing Bullock go to the Knicks, potential point guard target Patrick Beverley has reportedly agreed to stay with the Los Angeles Clippers for a three year deal worth $40 million, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

With Beverley and Bullock off the board, as well as D’Angelo Russell going to the Warriors and Jimmy Butler (likely?) headed to Miami, the Lakers are running out of legitimate options to fill out their roster if Kawhi Leonard decides to remain King in the North.
