Lakers’ Frank Vogel explains how Anthony Davis got ejected vs. Bulls

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Chicago Bulls Monday, 121-103, but the game was over well before the fourth quarter started.

In the third quarter, Anthony Davis caught an entry pass and tried to go up for a layup right away but fell out of bounds and lost his shoe.

Before he could tie his laces, the referee allowed Chicago to inbound the ball and resume play, prompting Davis to retaliate. Davis, who was called for a technical foul earlier in the game, received his second tech and was ejected.

After the game, head coach Frank Vogel explained how the tech was assessed.

“I think, typically, the ref will wipe the ball, let the guy get his shoe on, have some common sense,” Vogel explained. “Quick inbounds, AD said, ‘That’s BS,’ which happens about 15 times in the NBA every game, quick tech, ejection. All I have to say about that.”

This was Davis’ second ejection of his career. The first came in 2017 when he was still with the New Orleans Pelicans.
