Lakers fans can now watch games on Spectrum SportsNet streaming service

Over the last couple of years, many everyday items have gotten more expensive due to a brief but severe bout of inflation, and for most Americans, incomes have been flat or declining for decades. That has led many people to cut some non-essential things out of their monthly budget.

For an increasing number of people, one of those things has been their cable or satellite television subscription. Due to increasing costs and the proliferation of streaming services, some in the industry feel cable television is about to go the way of the dodo bird.

Fortunately for Los Angeles Lakers fans, their favorite team is getting with the times. Thanks to its partnership with Spectrum SportsNet, the local network that carries its games, fans will be able to watch Lakers games on a new streaming service that will give them a 24/7 feed of the network and all of its programming (h/t Lakers Daily).

Via NBA.com:

“With the start of the NBA regular season, the launch of Spectrum SportsNet+ will allow even more fans to enjoy live Lakers games and in-depth, unique coverage of their favorite team, with or without a pay TV subscription,” said Dan Finnerty, senior vice president of Spectrum Sports. “By offering a variety of packages, we’re giving fans more choice and flexibility and taking another step towards evolving the Regional Sports Network model in this new era of sports viewing.”

In addition to Lakers games, Spectrum SportsNet+ will allow subscribers to watch other Lakers-related programming.

“This new service gives Lakers fans another way to watch their favorite team in action on the court,” said Tim Harris, president of business operations for the Lakers. “The launch of Spectrum SportsNet+ brings the premium, in-depth coverage, analysis and behind-the-scenes content to more fans across the region, allowing us to reach more people every day and grow the next generation of Lakers fans.”

As a result, Lakers fans throughout Southern California, Hawaii and Southern Nevada can now keep tabs on the team without experiencing any guilt or hesitation over “cutting the cord.”
