Lakers enter draft lottery with 2 percent odds at top pick

Tuesday night is one of the biggest nights on the calendar for the Los Angeles Lakers and 13 other teams hoping to get some lottery luck.

The NBA Draft lottery is set for 8:30 p.m. EST on ESPN, just before Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors. Forward Kyle Kuzma will be the representative for the Lakers in Chicago for the lottery.

The Lakers enter Tuesday night’s lottery with a slim 2% chance at getting the top pick, which everyone expects to be Duke’s Zion Williamson. But the Lakers could get lucky and still miss on the top pick as they have a 9.4% chance of vaulting into the top four, according the fine folks at Tankathon.

With the Anthony Davis trade talks expected to pick back up in the summer, getting a top pick would certainly help the Lakers chances of bringing the Brow to Hollywood.

The Lakers had a brutal close to the season after being as high as 4th in the standings prior to a groin injury to LeBron James on Christmas. After the injury to LeBron, the Lakers had the 6th lowest winning percentage in the league behind only Memphis, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Phoenix.

The Knicks, Suns and LeBron’s former Cavaliers all share a 14% chance for the No. 1 pick.
