The Los Angeles Lakers have completed their 14-day self-quarantine period and all of the players and staff are symptom-free, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. The team announced a few weeks ago that two of their players, who remained anonymous, tested positive for coronavirus after the entire team was tested. The team was tested after four players from the Brooklyn Nets, including Kevin Durant, whom the Lakers played last, also tested positive for coronavirus.
LeBron James has been posting a lot from his self-quarantine, even giving some of his posts the title “Rona Chronicles.” However, the NBA has told all teams to close their practice facilities, so LeBron likely won’t be able to get any hoops in, or see his teammates.
A couple of players from the Portland Trail Blazers who are rehabbing injuries have been given individual permission to work out at the team’s weight room, according to big man Zach Collins, but they are not allowed to work on the court. So it doesn’t look like the NBA will budge on allowing them to play anytime soon, even for LeBron and the Lakers. But as the coronavirus situation evolves, the league’s stance may as well.
