LOS ANGELES _ Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis took himself out of Friday night's game against Memphis after a collision with Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. but returned to finish with 28 points and 13 rebounds in a 117-105 victory.
Davis was guarding Jackson on the perimeter less than two minutes into the game when the two collided on the perimeter. Davis began to limp and removed himself from the game.
After Davis was quickly checked on the bench, he limped to the locker room, where the medical staff determined he had a bruised right calf. He checked back into the game with 8:28 left in the second quarter and the Lakers leading 38-29.
Davis, who has missed only seven of the Lakers' 53 games this season and none since Jan. 18, also had seven blocked shots, four assists and one steal.
Lakers star LeBron James led all scorers with 32 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. He had seven assists, three rebounds and two blocks.
Avery Bradley and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were the only other Lakers in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Forward Josh Jackson came off the bench to lead the Grizzlies in scoring with 20 points on nine-of-12 shooting. Rookie guard Ja Morant made only five of 14 shots to finish with 17 points. Backup big man Gorgui Dieng and rookie forward Brandon Clarke each had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
