Lakers coach Frank Vogel detailed how LeBron has mentored Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis was disappointed in his performance after Game 1, going 8 for 24 from the field and failing to perform up to the level needed to win their opener of the series against Portland. But as he did during the regular season, LeBron’s experience and mindset helped Anthony Davis reset coming into Game 2, in which Davis was the best player on the court, totaling 31 points and 11 rebounds in only three-quarters of action.

Prior to Saturday’s Game 3, Lakers coach Frank Vogel was asked about how Davis has been able to lean on LeBron for advice throughout the whole season and how it has been a big brother-type of relationship with James all season.

Davis has performed well against this Blazers team before, being the leading factor in a sweep of Portland when he was on the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018. But after a bad game, it can’t hurt to have arguably the greatest player of all-time telling them how much they believe in them and motivating them to reach the best version of themselves.
