Lakers-Clippers: Danny Green erupts on the Clippers in third quarter

One of the biggest questions many analysts had about the overhauled Lakers roster is whether GM Rob Pelinka added enough outside shooters to take advantage of LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ playmaking abilities. In Tuesday’s season opener against the Clippers, new Laker Danny Green signaled that he may be about to have a career year shooting from the outside.

The Clippers led by as many as 14 points in the third quarter, but Green almost singlehandedly kept the Lakers in the game. Green went a perfect 5-for-5 behind the arc in the third, sparking a 15-0 run that ended with a spectacular 27-footer from Green to give the Lakers the lead.

Green’s career high scoring average is just 11.7 points per game, set in 2015 in San Antonio. That mark may change this season in the Staples Center.
