The Los Angeles Lakers have finally announced their replacement for Andre Ingram after letting the 33-year old guard’s 10-day contract expire on Wednesday.
It’s another G League call up from the South Bay Lakers: point guard Scott Machado. Machado will likely slot in behind Rajon Rondo and Alex Caruso in the Lakers rotation, but it’s no guarantee the call-up will mean playing time. However, Machado has been a monster in the G League this season averaging over 16 points and dishing eight assists per game. He was just named G League Player of the Week.
Considering the Lakers will be without Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram for the rest of the season, as well as cutting LeBron’s minutes, Machado gives the Lakers another option to initiate offense.
