Lakers among three teams Andre Iguodala is considering in free agency

The Los Angeles Lakers have dealt with a busy offseason thus far as filling out the roster in free agency was a critical task for next season.

Los Angeles had only five players under contract after trading for Russell Westbrook, so 10 spots needed to be filled for the 15-man roster.

So far, L.A. has agreed to deals with Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, Wayne Ellington, Carmelo Anthony, Kent Bazemore, Malik Monk and Kendrick Nunn.

But after waiving Alfonzo McKinnie, the Lakers currently sit at 12 filled roster spots, so three players must be added.

Among the players who could be a possibility for one of those spots is veteran forward Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala is one of the better names still available to grab, and he’s narrowed down his list to three teams, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic:

“Andre Iguodala has narrowed his playing choices down to the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.”

Adding Iguodala to the rotation would give the Lakers another serviceable veteran who can play and defend multiple positions.

The most noticeable weakness, however, is his 3-point shooting. He’s shot 33.3 percent from deep in his 17-year career on low volume, which isn’t the smoothest fit alongside LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis.

But if the Lakers can snag him for the veteran’s minimum, it’d be a good depth move for Iguodala’s defensive prowess alone.
