Lakers among teams interested in Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic

The Los Angeles Lakers are rumored to be interested in a lot of different players in the NBA for a very obvious reason. Outside of LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis and 2nd round pick Talen Horton-Tucker, nobody knows what the Lakers roster will really look like.

Reports indicate that the Lakers are still trying to send Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga and Jemerrio Jones to another team to open up salary, but who they will target with their cap space is anybody’s guess. But one position that seems important to fill will be the center position, given Anthony Davis’ general dislike for playing center.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski during Thursday night’s broadcast, Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic could be a target for the Lakers, as well as the Boston Celtics who are expected to lose Al Horford.

Vucevic would be a very interesting fit for the Lakers. While he does play center, he’s not exactly a rim protector but alongside Davis the Lakers don’t need him to be. He has a post game but he’s also developed a reliable three-point shot to help make him even more dynamic.

However, Vucevic is coming off of his first All-Star selection and may be a little too expensive for the Lakers as they look to build depth on their currently thin roster.
