Lakeland Forum swimming pool closed due to 'chemical imbalance' in water

The swimming pool at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum remains closed for a third day after a "chemical imbalance" was found in the water.

The Enniskillen facility shut to the public on Monday afternoon and swimming lessons were cancelled, according to the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum Facebook page.

It has not yet reopened with Fermanagh & Omagh District Council confirming it will not reopen until the issue is rectified.

A council spokesman said: "The swimming pool at Fermanagh Lakeland Forum is currently closed to the public due to a chemical imbalance in the pool water.

"Our engineers are working to find a solution as quickly as possible, however, due to the volume of water involved, it make take some time to correct.

"The pool will not reopen until the issue is rectified. Swimming lessons will be re-scheduled and customers will be offered a refund should they not wish to avail of the rescheduled lessons.

"We will keep all our customers informed of the situation on the council and venue website and on social media.

"Fermanagh and Omagh District Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused as a consequence of the closure."
