TWO violent home invasions in Port Stephens and Lake Macquare are under investigation, with detectives believing the same vehicle was used in both incidents.
Three men allegedly forced entry into a Lemon Tree Passage property about 4.15am on March 23, police said, assaulting a man seriously.
The intruders were armed with a hammer and a knife.
Two days later, two men forced their way into a Kahibah home about 2pm.
They assaulted a resident of the property seriously. In that incident, the intruders were wielding a pole and a bat.
Port Stephens-Hunter police are investigating the potential links between the attacks, including the car.
The vehicle has been described as a blue Mazda 6 sedan.
Investigators are hoping to speak with three men who they say can assist with inquiries.
All three men are described as aged in their 20s.
Anyone with information or dash-cam footage from those suburbs around the time of the incidents is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
