Lake Macquarie football club hit by vandals yet again

A Lake Macquarie football club has lamented being hit by vandals after its facility was broken into last week.

The Edgeworth Eagles had a sponsors box at Jack McLaughlan Oval ransacked on Friday night.

A number of display cabinets and a television were smashed, and holes punched in the building's walls.

The incident is not the first act of vandalism to occur at the ground and the football club has issued a plea for information.

"Please, if anyone has any information as to who may be responsible for these recent spates of vandalism at our facility, speak up," it said in a post on its Facebook page.

"All clubs run on the generosity of time from volunteers and to see this happening regularly to our newly refurbished facility is heartbreaking to us all!"

Lake Macquarie police inspected the scene at the weekend and investigations are continuing.
