Lady Gaga's neighbour fears pets were stolen for ransom money in gunpoint dognapping

Lady Gaga 's neighbour fears her dogs could have been stolen for ransom money.

The singer's dog walker was shot four times and two of her French Bulldogs have been stolen in a terrifying attack in Los Angeles and she later offered a $500,000 reward for their safe return.

Ryan Fischer, 30, was walking Koji, Gustavo and Miss Asia when the first two dogs were stolen just before 10pm on Wednesday night.

Miss Asia ran away and was later found by police officers and kept safe until one of Gaga's bodyguards came to collect her.

The shocking incident saw Ryan shot outside his West Hollywood home by an unknown assailant.

He was taken to hospital and is said to be recovering, but there's no official word on his condition yet.

But a neighbour of the 34-year-old singer - real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - fears that dognappers may have taken the pets for ransom.

Buck Angel, who called 911 to report what happened, told The Sun: "Where the attack happened can't just be down to chance."

And he said that the area where the incident took place has been "empty for five years", meaning there was no one around to witness it.

He added: "They had to have chosen that spot to carry out the attack, and those dogs were targeted for ransom, it had to be.

"They must have wanted to blackmail Lady Gaga for money."

French Bulldogs tend to sell for between $1,500 and $3,000 in America, although those with pedigree lineage could go for as much as $10,000.

And Gaga's celebrity status could push the price dogs of her dogs up even higher.

Her dogs are often featured on her social media and have even joined her on the red carpet in the past.

Earlier tonight, Gaga's dad Joe Germanottta spoke about the turmoil the family was in.

Gaga is currently in Rome filming a movie.

Joe told the New York Post : "We’re just sick over it, it’s really horrible. It’s like someone took one of your kids."

He said he's told her to "stay strong" and remember that the dogs are together.

"They’re comforting each other," he said of the pets.
