Ladies Gaelic Football Association announce cancellation of 2020 Lidl National Leagues

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association has announced that the 2020 Lidl National Leagues have been cancelled.

The competitions, which had completed five rounds of games up to March 8, will NOT be completed at a later stage. It is expected that the GAA will be left with no option but to make a similar decision with the Allianz Leagues.

Additionally, the LGFA has also shelved the Lidl Post Primary Schools Competitions, the LGFA Interprovincial Competition, the All-Ireland under-14 Championship, Feile na nOg and Feile Skills, decisions which the governing body says “have not been taken lightly”.

The inter-county Championship remains in limbo for now as the coronavirus crisis continues to develop.

“The 2020 TG4 All-Ireland Championships will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, in line with Government regulations, while there is a possibility of provincial action in the under-16 and Minor Championships, when LGFA activities resume,” said an LGFA statement.

“A number of development programmes are also postponed until LGFA activity resumes.”
