Ladies Day racegoers have fun despite the rain

Rain in Liverpool is sadly not a rare occurrence, but today's racegoers likely hoped for better conditions when they booked their tickets.

However, in true Scouser fashion, people didn't let the rain get in the way of their festivities today on Ladies Day. Despite the weather not letting up for almost the entire day, spirits remained high as people watched races and showed off their best outfits, hats, and fascinators.

Racegoers arrived in everything from bold colours to more understated neutrals, and the only universal accessory was an umbrella. The temperature reached a high of just eight degrees, with rain expected to continue until 8pm.

Luckily, the forecast for tomorrow is currently rain free, so ticket-holders for Grand National Day should be able to stay dry while watching the race. However, it is due to be partly cloudy, with temperatures peaking at just 12 degrees in the early afternoon.
