Grand National Ladies Day forecast: What will the weather be like for Aintree

Grand National weekend 2019 is already underway at Aintree.

People woke up to a frosty start this morning and it's not expected to warm up significantly throughout the day.

There's also patchy rain forecast throughout the day although there should be dry spells, according to the Met Office .

But many will be more worried about tomorrow, which is of course. Ladies Day. And then there's the immortal question do we need to pack a brolly for the 2019 festival of horse racing?

Although glorious blue skies are unlikely, Ladies Day is expected to be drier than today with general overcast conditions.

The mercury may reach as high as 14C but breezy weather will mean it feels colder - coats could be on the cards with the 'feels like' temperature not reaching double figures.

Met Office forecaster Graham Madge said: "It will be reasonably bright to start and there may well be some cloud, drier and clearer as you get to the east.

"Looks very much like it will remain dry for much of the day - there may be the odd light shower but nothing significant.

"Temperature will be just getting into double figures, if it's sunnier that will see temperatures at the higher level.

"Should be relatively clear but maybe some spells of it being overcast.

"Less than a 10% chance of rain overall. Wind coming from the south east will be nothing too much to worry about, gusting possible 20-30mph at some times."

Grand National day itself will see the best day of the weekend with clouds but also sunshine.

Temperatures are expected to reach 12C, with lows of 6C, but there will be less wind.
