WernerCo, manufacturer of ladders and other products for construction sites, said Tuesday it has moved its corporate headquarters from Greenville, Pennsylvania, to Itasca, where it employs 135 people.

The company’s new headquarters is at 555 Pierce Road in the Hamilton Lakes office development. A spokeswoman said the new 34,000-square-foot headquarters more than doubles the size of its Greenville space.

A privately owned company, WernerCo said it is bringing together teams from engineering, product development and marketing to support its global brands. A spokeswoman said some employees have transferred from Greenville.

The new headquarters “is conducive to collaboration and creativity among our employee base in a location that will also attract top talent. We are extremely optimistic about the new centralized location contributing to our long-term success,” said James Caudill, chief executive officer.

Besides ladders, the company produces fall protection equipment, scaffolds, secure storage systems and light duty construction equipment. Among its worldwide locations is a factory in Crystal Lake.
