LadBaby shuts down Hamleys toy shop for son’s third birthday party

LadBaby gave his son the ultimate surprise for his third birthday - he shut down Hamleys toy store.

Last year, Mark Ian Hoyle, also known as LadBaby, built Legoland in the back garden for son Kobe's birthday after a planned trip to the theme park was cancelled amid coronavirus restrictions.

But this year he took it one step further.

Mark, along with his wife Roxanne, aka LadBaby Mum, and two sons Phoenix and Kobe, got the opportunity to shut down Hamleys toy store in London, giving the kids the run of the entire site.

"It’s not every day you get to have the run of the most famous toy store in the world," Mark said.

"I’m not sure who was more excited, the kids or us," reports The Sun.

It wasn't just the kids who were thrilled with the surprise, as Roxanne got to live out her childhood dreams.

He added: "I had to hold Rox back from playing with absolutely everything and remind her that the day was about the kids."

The British lifestyle blogger and YouTuber from Nottingham, England, shared the heartwarming moment he revealed his secret plans on his social media, where he can be heard saying: "Are you all excited for the surprise of your life?" to which they all scream back, "yeah" in response.

"I have arranged the best thing in the entire world for his birthday," he continued, as they unknowingly made their way towards the store.

When it eventually came into view, Roxanne's jaw dropped as she exclaimed, "Oh my god, are we going to Hamleys? Tell me we're going to Hamleys."

"Yes, we're going to Hamleys," he reveals before adding: "I've got another surprise for you... I've shut it down."

Baffled, Roxanne asks, "You've shut what down?" before Mark said that they had the run of the entire store with no one else on site.

"Shut up," says Roxanne, "what like we're the Kardashians?"

For the next hour, the family received undivided attention from the staff there, being treated to magic tricks, games and all sorts in a once in a lifetime opportunity.

But for his 34th birthday this year, Mark took a much more laid-back approach as he enjoyed a pint in his local pub, the Bierkeller - although, he celebrated in true LadBaby style as he dressed up as a pint of beer.

"It does not get better than this - my birthday on the day they decide to let us out for a beer," he told Nottinghamshire Live.

"We always like coming here and saw on Facebook a photo of this big outdoor space so it seemed a good place to come.'"

Adding that he only goes out for "the best occasions."

He ended the special day with a haircut, a burger-shaped cake and dinner out with the family.

Mark found fame in 2016 after he created his LadBaby blog while Roxanne was pregnant with their first child, in which he documented the day-to-day life of his wife and himself as they took on parenthood.

Now, they have amassed a global audience of 11 million.
