Lacey Turner only packed Mini Eggs and a nightie when she went into hospital to give birth

New mum Lacey Turner has revealed she didn't have time to pack the essentials in her hospital bag before suddenly giving birth to her son in February.

The EastEnders star, 32, was expecting to go straight back home that same night when she made a trip to the hospital, but her son Trilby was born unexpectedly at four-weeks premature.

The actress, who plays Stacey Slater on the BBC soap, added how she also went back to bed after her waters broke, as she was so tired.

"I got into bed and pretended it wasn't happening and then I thought, 'I can't do this,' Lacey told Loose Women.

"I phoned them up and they said, 'You better come in'."

Lacey added: "I threw some Mini Eggs in the case and a nightie thinking I was coming home."

The mother-of-two, who also shares daughter Dusty with her husband Matt Kay, said she was not thrown off by the fact Trilby was born early, as she was born prematurely too.

She told OK! magazine of the birth: "He came at 36 weeks! It was around 11pm and I was just about to go to bed and my waters broke like something out of a film.

"I had no idea that would happen, as my waters didn't break with Dusty. I didn’t know you could have that much water, I thought it was for TV purposes only!"

She shared the first snap of the newborn looking cosy under a blanket hand-knitted by her on-screen mum Gillian Wright.

The proud mum just shared a heart emoji as a caption, and was soon flooded with comments.

Fellow new mum Dani Dyer wrote: "Congratulations he is beautiful! and LOVE the name!"

EastEnders co-star Tamzin Outhwaite added: "congratulations...beautiful."
