Labrador and his owner show they're already in the Halloween spirit

A dog and his owner are already in the Halloween spirit as they put on their best impressions of a ghost.

In a video, uploaded to TikTok with the caption ‘Me as soon as it’s finally October’, six-year-old chocolate Labrador, Ollie, takes on a more spooky appearance, wearing a white sheet with eye holes.

Alongside his owner, Alex Morgan, 22, who works in marketing, Ollie wakes up in the costume, drinks tea next to some pumpkins and watches a Halloween classic - Hocus Pocus.

There couldn’t be a better way to feel more in the Halloween spirit than to dress up and get the pumpkins out.

Alex, who lives near Reading in Berkshire, said: “Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, so I usually take the whole of October to celebrate and I guess Ollie falls into that as well. We have lots of Halloween costumes and decorations.”

Ollie already has a large following on TikTok with 1.9 million followers and this video has been liked nearly 300,000 times.

Alex says that her videos are never overly planned and she gets inspired by what’s going on around her when deciding what to film.

She said: “To be honest I just wing it, sometimes I let Ollie decide what we’re going to do for a video. If he starts doing something funny or cute I’ll film it.

“I only started sharing Ollie’s videos a year into lockdown to make a couple of people smile, I didn’t really plan on having nearly two million followers six months later.”

Ollie loves Halloween almost as much as owner Alex (@labradolliedog on Instagram)

With nearly 200 million views overall, Ollie has gained a fanbase due to his unusual skill of being able to balance breakable items on his backside, including a wine glass and a laptop.

Alex said: “Last Halloween, he was doing a bow for a picture and we had a pumpkin there to take the photo with and I thought ‘oh I wonder if he can balance that’.

“So I just popped the pumpkin on his behind and he did it on the first try, so ever since then we’ve just been doing more items.”

Ollie is smart and always keen to learn new tricks which is something he and Alex like to do together for fun.

She said: “He’s the happiest dog you’ll ever meet, he’s a really sweet boy. That’s why his name’s @good.boy.Ollie because he’s just very good.

“His tail’s always wagging and you can't really upset him ever. He’s just happy to do tricks, happy to get attention, really greedy. He’s a very hungry boy, but what Labrador isn’t?”
